German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The DAAD is the world's largest funding organization for the international exchange of students and academics. It promotes the internationalization of German universities, awards scholarships, strengthens German studies and the German language abroad, supports developing countries in establishing efficient universities and advises decision-makers in education, foreign science and development policy.

Study worldwide. Experience it!
The campaign "Study worldwide. Experience it!" campaign is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It is organized and implemented by the DAAD in close cooperation with the BMBF. On this website you will find lots of useful information and assistance to help you with your project.

International Placement Services (ZAV)
Everything you need to know about jobs, internships and further education in over 30 European countries can be found here. Country information is also available to help you plan your project abroad.

Pädagogischer Austauschdienst e.V. (PAD)
The Pädagogischer Austauschdienst (PAD) is active in international exchange and international cooperation in the school sector. Students from all subject areas can apply to the PAD for a COMENIUS assistantship in EU member states as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey.

Hessen Networks
The Hessian coordination office for international practice-oriented mobility "Hessen Networks!" is a joint project of the Hessian universities. The aim of the project is to better connect existing networks and contacts in the field of internships abroad in Hessen and to simplify administrative processes. At the same time, the project aims to increase the flow of mobility in Hessen and make internships abroad a more important part of studies.

Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusamenarbeit (giz)
As a competent service provider, GIZ supports the German government in achieving its international cooperation goals and is active in international education work worldwide. In addition, young people have the opportunity to gain professional experience worldwide in the form of exchange programs for young professionals.

Goethe-Institut
The Goethe-Institut is the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Institute's educational programs enable mobility in a worldwide learning community. The Goethe-Institut offers the opportunity to do an internship at one of its institutes abroad.

weltwärts
"weltwärts" promotes sustainable commitment to the One World and sees itself as a learning service that enables young people to take part in intercultural exchanges in developing countries. Young people between the ages of 18 and 28 can do voluntary service in developing countries for 6 to 24 months on all aspects of current development cooperation. They are intensively prepared for their assignment by the sending organizations and supported throughout their voluntary service.

kulturweit
"kulturweit" is an international youth volunteer service in the field of foreign cultural and educational policy. It is a project of the German UNESCO Commission in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office. Since 2009, "kulturweit" has offered young people between the ages of 18 and 26 the opportunity to volunteer for 6 or 12 months in the field of foreign cultural and educational policy. All volunteers receive financial support.

Lernfeldunterwegs - Learning and traveling around the world
"Lernfeld unterwegs - Learning and traveling around the world" is an association of committed organizations from international youth work (IJA), child and youth travel (KJR) and various universities. The job and volunteering exchange gives students, teachers and practice partners the opportunity to find out about internships, voluntary work and jobs.

Voluntary service abroad

You should always clarify your plans with the BPS office before you start your planned voluntary service and have it recognized. As a general rule, social work institutions can be recognized if an experienced social worker is responsible for supervising your internship. Nevertheless, we recommend that you consult the BPS office so that no unexpected difficulties arise.
