- A passed bachelor’s or Diplom I degree in economics or an equivalent field
- or proof of a first professional university degree in a non-economics program that includes foundational economics courses and a focus on sustainability
- and proof of a standard period of study of at least six semesters
- and proof of 180 credits
- and proof of English language proficiency at the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (several required courses are taught in English)
- and proof of German language proficiency at the DSH 2 level, if German is not the applicant’s native language
- and proof of at least 60 credits from relevant courses in the field of economics, including at least 5 credits in microeconomics
- and proof of 5 credits from relevant courses in the field of sustainability.
Compliance with the academic prerequisites is determined based on the written documentation. The decision rests with the examination committee.
If the applicant lacks basic knowledge of sustainable business practices or economics, the examination committee may impose additional course requirements totaling a maximum of 12 credits, which must be completed within the first two semesters.
