Overall, the study paints a positive picture of the employment of doctoral graduates, especially outside the science system.
"Career decisions and career paths for doctoral candidates - on the multifunctionality of doctorates" has been carried out as a mutual research of INCHER , the IAB Rhineland-Palatinate-Saarland, and the German Center for University and Science Research (DZHW).Based on various databases we investigated on the career decisions of doctoral candidates as well as the career progression and recruitment patterns of doctoral and post-doctoral candidates. The research outcomes were part of the 2021 German National Report on Junior Scholars.
