Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The Master's degree program is only offered in the winter semester. Admission to the summer semester is not possible.

At the time of application, 6 credits in business psychology and 16 credits in statistics/mathematics must be proven. If you are unable to provide proof of these credits by the time of application, admission to the Master's degree program is unfortunately not possible.

Please note the information on documents under point 2 in the step-by-step application guide.

Degrees in psychology or economics-related courses other than those listed in the subject examination regulations are also admitted if their equivalence has been recognized by the Examination Board upon application. An application for equivalence can be submitted if it can be proven that at least 2/3 of the total credits earned in the first degree program were earned in psychology and/or economics courses (including the required credits in statistics/mathematics).

Please note the information on documents under point 2 in the step-by-step guide to the application.

Business Psychology Credits: Courses from the fields of business psychology, work and organizational psychology and/or market and advertising psychology are generally recognized accordingly.

Other psychological disciplines, such as courses from general psychology or educational psychology, arenot recognized.

Mathematics/Statistics Credits: Courses whose primary goal is to impart mathematical and/or statistical knowledge are recognized. This usually includes:

  • Statistics and in-depth computer courses
  • Mathematics
  • Financial/economic mathematics
  • econometrics
  • Statistical methodology
  • Quantitative methods

Missing credits to prove the required knowledge in statistics/mathematics or business psychology cannot be made up during the course of the Master's program and must already be submitted with the application.
We therefore recommend that students interested in the Master's degree program who have not yet completed their Diploma or Bachelor's degree should design the content of their studies (e.g. specializations, compulsory elective modules, etc.) in such a way that they match the requirements profile of the Master's degree program.

If no courses in statistics/mathematics or business psychology are offered in your own diploma or Bachelor's degree program, these can be acquired in other study programs, depending on the regulations of your own university (e.g. in the form of additional/extra curricular achievements)

As part of the re-accreditation of the Master's program for the winter semester 25/26, this admission criterion no longer applies. Applicants no longer have to write a letter of motivation.
