Summer exhibition "Future Places" in the theme year "Transformations in Town and Country"

From July 3 to October 17, the interactive exhibition explores places in Kassel and northern Hesse where new sustainable spaces are being created, negotiated and lived in everyday life. Where is sustainable action already taking place? What are small hopeful perspectives in everyday life? Where should we take a closer look?
Since October 2024, the SDG+ Lab has been focusing on the sustainable design of urban and rural spaces - and on the interplay between urban and rural areas. After all, a sustainable future needs liveable, climate-resilient and vibrant places as well as good coexistence - in the city and in the countryside.
The exhibition curated by Florian Bremer focuses on what is already happening: on people, places and processes in which change is already beginning today. The exhibition is deliberately incomplete and sees itself as a polyphonic collage - of existing projects, emerging ideas and shared experience. It is not about ready-made solutions, but about practices in the making: about what is being tried out, supported and thought through - locally, collectively, here on site.
For the summer exhibition, a writable 9 m² table will move into the SDG+ Lab. This not only provides space for visitors to share their experiences on the exhibition topics, but also brings together best practice and civil society engagement over the duration of the exhibition.
