Information for teachers

For you as lecturers, please note that coursework that is a prerequisite for registering for examinations must be entered into the system well before February 19 so that the eligibility to participate in the examination can be checked correctly. The regulations stipulate February 13, 2026 as the deadline for this, which is also the last day of the lecture period. It may therefore be necessary to handle coursework in the last week of lectures differently than usual in order to be able to enter the completeness of the work by the end of the week.

Registration

Students must also register in the usual way for examinations that are held from February 20 to March 16, 2026. If this is done via the examination administration system, registration must be completed by February 19, 23:59 so that eligibility to participate can be checked in the usual way.

It is not possible to register or deregister via the electronic examination administration system during the maintenance phase. Only in exceptional cases can students register later via the Examinations Office.

Student registrations will be available for you to read in a so-called 'shadow system' so that you can download the registration lists for examinations. The shadow system will be available from 20.2. However, it will not be possible to make changes to the data.

Deregistration

In order to avoid any disadvantages for students, in the period from 20.2. to 16.3. a "non-attendance at the examination" is considered to be "duly deregistered" if the registration had to be or was made via the examination management system HIS-POS. According to the General Provisions, students can usually deregister in the system until shortly before the examination, but this is not possible due to the lack of availability of the system during the transition period. In order to maintain the possibility of withdrawing from the examination until shortly before the examination date, this regulation was decided by the Senate and the Executive Board.

If the registration and deregistration procedure via HISPOS is not used for individual examinations, these examinations are excluded from the regulations and the usual procedures apply.

Deadlines associated with the announcement of examination results via the examination management system are also extended so that students are not disadvantaged by the late inspection of results. Due to the maintenance phase, the course catalog in 2026 will not be published until March 10, 2026.

The procedure for preferential admission to courses (PRIOS) is still being prepared and may vary from department to department. We will inform you here as soon as more detailed information is available.
