Prof. Dr. Matthias Haack
Image: PicturePeopleOn April 1, Dr. Matthias Haack took over the professorship for vocational education with a focus on technology didactics. He studied to become a teacher at vocational schools, specializing in the vocational Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Mathematics at Leibniz Universität Hannover. In 2022, he completed his doctorate on the topic of "Learner-centered activating teaching with large cohorts for university courses" in the didactics of electrical engineering. He then worked at the Center for Teacher Education and Subject Didactics at the University of Passau and at TU Dresden, where he held the Chair of Metal and Mechanical Engineering/Vocational Didactics. His research interests include digitalization in vocational education with a focus on artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality. Another focus of his research is vocational education for sustainable development. At the University of Kassel, he would like to investigate how AI, AR and VR can support learners in acquiring skills in electrical and metal technology learning situations.
