In the practical module Professional Practical Studies, both subject-related knowledge of the technologies and business organization skills are taught. Students work on complex tasks, preferably within projects, either in a supportive or independent capacity. The aim is to gain a deeper insight into the role of the engineering profession.

The aim is to gain a differentiated understanding of the interaction of various operational activities and an in-depth insight into the role of the engineering profession. The internship can be completed at the university or in a company exclusively within projects.

The internship lasts at least 14 weeks in a block of at least 450 working hours.

Organizational procedure:

  • Project topic in the company or at the university; prior agreement with a responsible professor (FB15 or FB16) who agrees to accept and grade the BPS and the internship company
  • The BPS is a compulsory elective module and must be noted as such in the study plan and signed off by the person responsible for the specialization .
  • Registration is mandatory before the start of the internship in HISPOS / Examination Registration - Professional Practical Studies and in the Praxis study service with the listed information

For further information, please refer to the module sheet Professional Practical Studies / Compulsory Elective Area Mechatronics Master
