Hands-on electronics - school visit to the Valentin Traudt School

The STEM Hub visited the Valentin Traudt School for two exciting days at the end of January. Together with the entire sixth grade - around 90 pupils - we immersed ourselves in the world of electronics.

The focus was on a practical DIY project: the children built their own simple circuit step by step. The special thing about it: an LED started to light up as soon as the circuit was closed with a finger. This allowed the pupils not only to understand electricity in theory, but also to experience it directly.

The children set to work with great curiosity and enthusiasm. They concentrated on building, tried things out and were amazed when the LED finally lit up. In addition to manual dexterity, teamwork and perseverance were also required - skills that the pupils demonstrated with flying colors.

For many, it was their first direct contact with electronic components and soldering or plugging in circuits. They were all the more proud to hold a functioning circuit in their hands at the end.

This project from our "MINT on Demand" program has once again shown how much fun practical learning can be. We would like to thank the Valentin Traudt School for the invitation and the dedicated teachers for the great cooperation.
