Information for students

During the changeover, i.e. from February 20 to March 9, no documents can be downloaded from eCampus. This applies to all certificates, i.e. enrolment certificates as well as tax office certificates, certificates for the BAföG office, transcripts of records, etc.

Necessary documents should therefore be downloaded well in advance of the maintenance phase, at the latest by February 19, 11:59 pm.

In individual cases, it may happen that grades are not entered in time, which students have to prove in order to apply for BAföG. In these cases, proof can be provided using "Form 5" (signed by the BAföG officer/examination office, depending on the department's responsibility. This form is already regularly used if students have not yet fully completed a module and therefore do not yet receive any credits, although partial credits have already been awarded).

For all examinations that take place from February 20 to March 16, 2026 (i.e. also in the first days after the eCampus changeover) and for which registration takes place via eCampus, you must register by February 19, 2026, 11:59 p.m. at the latest (and of course also take into account the requirements of the examination board). Registration is not possible during the maintenance phase.

Since it is also not possible to deregister from exams during this period, failure to appear for these exams in the period from February 20 to March 16 is automatically considered a deregistration (and not a failure).

Important: All of the above regulations apply to examinations for which registration takes place via eCampus, i.e. not, for example, examinations for which you register directly with the lecturer. For these, the same rules apply as always.

Our tip: Are you unsure whether you want to take an exam that you have to register for via the exam management system during this period? If in doubt, register and do not take the exam, you will be deemed to have deregistered in good time.

During the maintenance phase, examination results cannot be viewed in eCampus. However: Relevant deadlines (objection deadlines, etc.) do not begin until the examination results have been published, so that no disadvantage arises from this delay. Deadlines that relate to the announcement in eCampus and have not fully expired before February 20 will be extended by the full duration of the maintenance phase.

The course catalog for the summer semester will be published a few days later than in other years, namely directly after the eCampus switchover on March 9, 2026.

This will not result in any disadvantages. The new presentation of the course catalog in eCampus will also be more user-friendly than before.

It will be possible to register for courses shortly after the course catalog goes live, i.e. from March 11. The departments will decide whether and for which courses there is a preferential dial-in procedure. You can find all information on this in the course catalog.

Re-registration takes place by paying the semester fee. The semester fee can be transferred while the eCampus is not online. Only the processing of the re-registration in the university's systems will be delayed. However, this will not result in any disadvantages.

The main modernizations concern the technical infrastructure. Among other things, the new system offers students a better overview of required and completed services.

No, the Campuscard and all its functions are not affected.

No, the Semesterticket and Deutschlandticket are not affected.

Yes, the Campuscard can be validated at any time.

In future, key functions for organizing your studies will run on a single technical system. This makes processes more stable, ensures that data is only recorded once and is a basis for the further digitalization of the university: in future, further functions for organizing your studies will be added to eCampus.
