What does the future of work look like? And what qualifications are needed to cope with the future demands of the world of work and life? Teachers of work studies at lower secondary, secondary modern and comprehensive schools have the challenging task of preparing pupils for their role as consumers and producers in a world shaped by work.
During their studies, students deal with work as an elementary component of human existence. They take an interdisciplinary approach to current developments in the fields of economics, technology, socio-ecology and ergonomics from the perspective of sustainability. Theory and practice are intertwined in the degree course and thus create the prerequisites for implementing goal-oriented work education lessons in the future teaching profession.
