Withdrawal from enrollment / matriculation

If you do not wish to start the degree program for which you have applied for enrollment and for which you have already been fully enrolled, you can withdraw from enrollment. Withdrawal from enrollment is possible until 30.04. in the summer semester and until 31.10. in the winter semester. After that, only de-registration is possible.

How can I withdraw?

You apply for withdrawal from enrollment online in the eCampus of the University of Kassel:

  1. Log in to eCampus with your university account (ukxxxxxx) and go to "My studies → Applications" via the menu at the top left.
  2. Click on the item "Exmatrikulation". Then select that you would like to enter a new application. Select "Withdrawal enrollment" as the "Reason". For a winter semester, select the de-registration date 01.10.xxxx and for a summer semester the de-registration date 01.04.xxxx.
  3. As soon as you have submitted your application, it will have the status "Application submitted online" and you will find it under the overview "My submitted applications".
  4. Please note: In order for the semester fee to be refunded, the CampusCard must be returned to the Admissions Office,if you have already received it. Please send the CampusCard to the following address (P.O. Box): University of Kassel - Admissions Office - 34119 Kassel
  5. After processing, you will be refunded the semester fee paid, subject to a processing fee of 30.00 euros.

Please note that the refund may take 4 - 6 weeks. You will not receive any further notification of the processed withdrawal. Withdrawal cancels the enrollment and deletes all recorded data. Withdrawal has no negative effects on enrollment at other universities or any subsequent enrollment at the University of Kassel.

What do I have to do if my enrollment has not yet been completed?

If your enrolment has not yet been completed, you can withdraw your application for enrolment online in the eCampus of the University of Kassel under the application overview via the button "Withdraw enrolment application". Your application will then no longer be processed, i.e. you will not be enrolled and all your data will be deleted. If you have already paid the semester fee, the semester fee will be refunded automatically in mid-November for a winter semester and in mid-May for a summer semester.
