Recognition of academic achievements

As a general rule, all modules from other, comparable degree programmes with a comparable number of credits can be recognized as modules upon application. Corresponding applications can be collected from the Examinations Office.

Modules from a non-industrial engineering but related degree course (e.g. degree course in economics or engineering) can also be recognized if the work completed at another university

• in terms of content (subject perspective)
• in terms of scope (semester hours per week and/or credits) and
• in terms of the requirements (level of the course, examination certificates)

correspond to the modules of the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program at the University of Kassel.

You know your achievements from other universities best. Therefore, please first carry out a preliminary check for recognition of academic achievements yourself. The more complete and informative the documents you submit are, the faster and easier it will be for courses from other universities to be recognized. The Student Advisory Service will be happy to support you in this process and provide you with advice and assistance.

Recognition of credits from other universities for the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program at the University of Kassel takes place in three steps:

If you would like to have courses from another university recognized for the Industrial Engineering and Management degree course, please first check independently which courses from your former university match the existing modules at the University of Kassel, Industrial Engineering and Management degree course in terms of content, scope and requirements.

• The content match also refers to the subject-specific perspective. (Key question: Does the content of my course at another university match the content of the individual course in the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program at the University of Kassel?)
• The scope refers to the number of semester hours per week and/or credits. (Key question: Does the number of semester hours per week or credits of my course at another university match the number of semester hours per week or credits of the individual course in the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program at the University of Kassel?)
• The requirements refer to the level of the course and the corresponding examination certificates. (Key question: Does the level of my course from another university and the associated examination results match the level of the individual course in the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program at the University of Kassel?)

In order to be able to compare your achievements from another university in terms of content, scope and requirements with the achievements in the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program at the University of Kassel, you need information on the existing courses in the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program at the University of Kassel. If you find courses at the University of Kassel in the Industrial Engineering and Management degree program which, according to step one, match the courses you attended at another university, please submit

• a copy and an original of your transcript of records,
• a module sheet or curriculum from each course at the other university
• as well as the module sheets of the corresponding courses at the University of Kassel (see module handbook of industrial engineering (Bachelor & Master))

before.

To simplify the crediting process, please mark the overlaps in both module sheets and note that the module sheet or curriculum of the other university must clearly indicate the content (subject perspective), the scope (semester hours per week and/or credits) and the requirements (level of the course, examination certificates) of the course you attended in accordance with step one.

Step 3 of 3

Please contact the Examination Office of Faculty 07 responsible for Industrial Engineering and Management with the complete documents according to step two. The Examination Office will check the documents you have submitted and adjust them if necessary. The examination board will then decide whether to approve the credit transfer.

Can certificates from faculties 7, 14, 15 and 16 be recognized for the industrial engineering degree course at the University of Kassel?

All certificates from departments 07, 14, 15 and 16 required for the industrial engineering degree course are recognized. This also applies to oral examinations.
