Elementary School Teaching Certificate (First State Examination)

In addition to the two compulsory subjects Mathematics and German, you will take a third teaching subject from the range of courses offered by the University of Kassel in the degree program "Teacher Training at Elementary Schools". In addition to the three teaching subjects, you will take the sub-course " Educational and Social Sciences Core Studies", in which you will acquire knowledge and skills in the areas of education, psychology and the social sciences. Practical school phases are also an integral part of the program. In addition to a five-week basic internship in the 2nd or 3rd semester, you will complete a practical semester in the 4th or 5th semester, during which you will conduct your first teaching experiments and learn to scientifically reflect on your role as a future teacher. The program ends with the First State Examination. Afterwards, you can apply to a Studienseminar for the pedagogical preparatory service, which you complete with the Second State Examination.
