Subject Hours

The content on this page was translated automatically.

Dear non-psychology students,

The Department of Psychology is looking for students from all departments to participate in empirical studies. For many studies offered, you can choose to participate in raffles instead of subject hours (which are only of value to psychology students), or you can also choose to receive an allowance in the form of money. Please note that it is only possible to receive money if this is explicitly stated in the description of the studies.

The studies take place partly online, partly on the campus HoPla and vary in their topic and temporal length, so that you can find studies that suit you! Of course, your data will remain anonymous and you can also cancel a study at any time.

To register for studies, you must register on the online platform "SONA" - there you will regularly find new offers for studies for which you can register flexibly.

Click here to go to the platform: https://uni-kassel.sona-systems.com/Default.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f

And here you can find more information on how to register and use SONA.

Dear Students,

SONA is the system for recording subject hours. In this PowerPoint presentation you will find step-by-step instructions on how to use SONA as a subject.

Comprehensive answers to questions about how to use the SONA system can be found here.

You must accumulate a total of 30 subject hours in your bachelor's degree (Module 1). Students after PO 2021 have the first four semesters to do this. At least 50% of the hours must be completed during the 1st and 2nd semester, the remaining 50% by the end of the 4th semester.

Of the 30 VPn hours to be completed, at least 23 VPn hours must be completed through participation in student investigations (project seminar investigations and thesis investigations). These investigations are identified by a capital 'S' before the investigation title.

The remaining investigations, which are carried out by employees of the institute, are marked with a capital 'I'. A maximum of 7 VPn hours may be earned through I examinations. In addition, a maximum of 9 VP hours (30%) may be earned through online studies; thus, at least 70% of the hours must come from laboratory studies.

Please see the answers above for how to have already accumulated subject hours accounted for in the system.

If you are already conducting studies yourself, you can find here for instructions on how to proceed. You can only set up your own investigations with the assistance of your supervisor(s).

PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING RULES WHEN USING THE MAILING LISTS! The same rules as in SONA apply to the advertisement of study hours via the mailing lists!
