Conference 75 years of reconstruction and rebuilding in Kassel: How capable of development is the rebuilt city?

The 75th anniversary of the bombing of Kassel is an occasion for the Department of Architecture Urban Planning Landscape Planning at the University of Kassel to look back on the discussions about the reconstruction of the city that have taken place since then. Where do we stand in this discussion today? How developable were and are the urban, residential, transportation and open spaces created in the course of reconstruction in Kassel and in other cities in Europe that were similarly destroyed in the Second World War? What visions for the further construction or reconstruction of the rebuilt city have been and are being developed and how are these to be assessed?
