W 2 – Professorship in Computer Algebra

We are looking for an excellent scientist with an internationally recognized research portfolio in computer algebra, preferably with close connections to applications and/ or differential equations. Candidates are expected to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues from the natural sciences and/ or from engeneering and to have a track record of peer-reviewed publications and external funding.

The appointee will teach algebra and computer algebra across the entire spectrum of the discipline in all mathematics degree programs (Bachelor, Master, teacher education) and will contribute to service teaching in other curricula (engineering, natural sciences).

Cooperation in academic self-management is an obligatory integral part of the position to be filled.

The advertised position is subject to the requirements set out in paragraphs §§ 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of Hessen (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz). The ability to teach in German is a prerequiste for a successful application.
