Mobility in everyday life: University of Kassel launches nationwide online survey

Which means of transport are used in everyday life and why? What events can change mobility habits? The Department of Cycling and Local Mobility at the University of Kassel is investigating these and other questions in an online survey.

"Our survey is intended to help us better understand and model the mobility behavior of the population, especially in unfamiliar situations," explains Prof. Dr. Angela Francke, Head of the Department of Cycling and Local Mobility at the University of Kassel. Participants are asked to provide information about their everyday traffic habits as well as their attitudes and preferences regarding different modes of transportation. "It is exciting to see how mobility behavior can change as a result of special events or personal experiences, such as a hot spell or the birth of a child," adds Prof. Francke.

The survey is part of a research project on mobility transformation that the University of Kassel is working on together with the Technical University of Dresden (automotive engineering, traffic process automation and traffic ecology). The project is funded over 3 years by the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport.

The survey can be accessed from 12.06.2023 to 31.07.2023 at the following link: uni-kassel.de/go/mobil-im-alltag. Ten vouchers worth 25 euros each will be raffled off among all participants.
