Four Hessen Ideas Scholarships go to the University of Kassel

As part of the Hessen Ideas Scholarship, all start-up teams will now receive financial support for their start-up projects for six months, from January to the end of June 2024, as well as support in the form of coaching and workshops.

Transparent electrochromic systems can be actively darkened in an energy-efficient manner. The processing of flexible switchable films in the injection molding process should make it possible to produce 3D-shaped, lightweight and cost-effective products that are interesting for optical applications such as helmet visors or ski and safety goggles.

Games for Positive Change

Games for Positive Change makes video games that offer more than just entertainment. The team wants to create a new genre that promotes cognitive skills, is visually appealing and breaks down barriers. The games are designed to appeal to new players and break down barriers. The aim is to strengthen Germany as a location for innovation and to create games that make a contribution to society.

So.pla

As a social enterprise, So.pla stands for: "Social responsibility and innovation in plastics recycling worldwide". A new production method for injection molds is intended to make the recycling of plastic much cheaper and easier. Recycling workshops in the Global South in particular should benefit from this because this technology will make them more autonomous.

WOLLWOHL

WOLLWOHL pursues the goal of using the potential of wool and wool fat for the natural treatment of skin diseases, while strengthening regional wool processing supply chains and revitalizing local production processes. The natural properties of wool and wool fat are to be used as a product in various application processes in order to have a health-promoting effect on inflamed skin. By combining the skin-friendly benefits of the natural material, the sustainable production chain and high design standards, the team aims to meet the needs of the target groups with their product idea.

Background:

Hessen Ideen is an initiative of the state of Hesse, Hessian universities and Hessian companies. The Hessen Ideas Scholarship, Hessen Ideas Competition, Hessen Ideas Crowdfunding and the Hessen Ideas University Network are designed to discover and promote entrepreneurial ideas at universities.

The Hessen Ideas Scholarship is aimed specifically at students and graduates interested in setting up their own business who are in the early stages of developing their business idea. The funding is intended to support them in the transition from the idea to a validated business concept.

The application phase for the next funding round of the scholarship is already underway. Students have until March 28, 2024 to apply with their ideas to be supported with a Hessen Ideas Scholarship from July to December 2024.
