Leo Eggenwirth takes first place in sport climbing

For the qualification, the best six out of nine possible attempts were scored. There were a total of 15 qualification routes, which were scored differently depending on their difficulty. The participants belayed each other in lead climbing in the respective routes. Here Eggenwirth was able to move into the final in first place, in which eight participants each started in the women's and men's categories.

The athletes all climbed the final route at the same time, so that no possible solutions for complex places could be copied. The student from Kassel was the only one to reach the top and thus had the victory secured. "I am very satisfied with my personal performance," says Eggenwirth. "It was a successful competition - especially the togetherness among the athletes made the championship excellent for me."
