New terminal in tropical greenhouse explains tropical agricultural research

You come to the tropical greenhouse as an individual guest and have questions about the university: "What can you study here?" "Is research done here, too?" "If so, what is it about, why and how?". You also always wanted to know why Witzenhausen is an "eco-location"?

Christoph Neubauer and Esther Mieves developed the terminal in terms of content and technology.

There is now a computer station in the tropical greenhouse where all these questions can be answered. Interactively, you can call up texts and films on research in the tropics or learn about sustainability initiatives from Witzenhausen.

Esther Mieves and Christoph Neubauer, both with master's degrees from the University of Kassel, have created an interactive platform for research. Follow our scientists on sustainable land use systems in China and Mongolia or find out about agricultural change in India and West Africa, in and around cities.

You can also watch films about Witzenhausen as a place of study and find out about the courses of study. The two authors put a special focus on the contributions of the university and the city to the implementation of the sustainable development goals. You can get to know the "Deutsche Genbank Kirsche in Wendershausen" or the "Solidarische Landwirtschaft" and the members' store "Fette Beute" and much more. Let us surprise you!

We thank the city of Witzenhausen for the financial support of the project.

The terminal runs during regular opening hours on Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun from 2 - 4 pm.
