Students develop and supervise children's birthday offer at the city museum

Whether as a detective, on a treasure hunt, as a maid through medieval Kassel or with the locomotive "Dragon" on a grand tour of the city - since spring 2019, children from 6 to 13 years can celebrate their birthday at the Kassel City Museum on Ständeplatz.

These ideas were developed by Kassel students under the direction of the museum's public relations and outreach department. The project emerged from a joint seminar in which the Museum Education Department of the City Museum (Klaus Wölbling) and the Didactics of History Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences (Prof. Dr. Christine Pflüger and Dr. Anna Schnädelbach) successfully cooperated in the winter semester 2018/19.

The various children's birthday offers each include a two-hour program with a guessing game, guided tour, and a hands-on part. The children can complete a rally through the museum, redesign the Kassel coat of arms, discover the 20th century with the 1950s Isetta, or create their own certificates with pen and ink.

The students will offer the various activities while the museum is in operation and look forward to welcoming their young guests. The cost is 65 euros.
