Uni Kassel now has its own app

This includes news from the university, local transport connections to the campus (with delay display), canteen meal plans and maps of all locations. Selected events are also displayed. The range of information will be expanded in the coming months.

The app was developed at the Department of Communications Technology; Kasseler Sparkasse generously supported the project. The developers have taken data protection into account: "Data is only processed locally," assures Alexander Terecik, research assistant at the department.

Dr. Oliver Fromm, Chancellor of the University of Kassel is pleased with the offer. "I think that new students in particular will appreciate the service and that the app will help them to quickly find their way around our university. Many thanks to the Department of Communication Technology for the initiative and to Kasseler Sparkasse for the great support, without which the department could not have realized the app."

The campus app is already available for Android mobile devices in the Play Store (keyword "Uni Kassel"), and is expected to be added to the Apple App Store in these weeks. The application is free of charge. An expansion is planned for the coming years in association with other Hessian universities.
