Employee in the library service (EG 9 TV-H) - In the University Library - State Library and Murhard Library of the City of Kassel

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The employment is for the replacement of an employee on leave and is initially limited until 31.10.2021 (§ 14 para. 1 sentence 2 no. 3 TzBfG).

Your tasks:

• Library information and advice in the State Library and Murhard Library of the City of Kassel
• Research in the library portal KARLA, in library catalogs, general and specialist databases and portals
• Working at the service desk at the Brüder-Grimm-Platz location
• Providing information (user training: library introductions/guided tours)
• Support with retro-cataloging projects
• Assistance in maintaining the website and the internal library wiki

Your requirements:

• Completed university degree as a librarian or bachelor's degree in the field of library or information science
• Good knowledge of library application software, in particular the PICA modules;
• Good knowledge of bibliographic and other reference tools in electronic and conventional form;
• Flexibility, also with regard to changing services
• Willingness to work late and on Saturdays
• High degree of service orientation, communication and teamwork skills
• initiative and a sense of responsibility
• Willingness to undergo continuous further training

Advantageous are

• task-related professional experience in the field of information and information dissemination

• Good knowledge of regulations (RDA, RAK-WB)
• Knowledge of content management systems such as Typo 3 and Confluence
