Library employee (m(f/d), EG 14 TV-H - at the HoPla site

The employment is for the replacement of employees on leave and is initially limited until 30.06.2020 (§ 14 para. 1 sentence 2 no. 3 TzBfG).

Tasks:

• Management of the Use Department
• Organization and coordination of business processes
• Optimization of the structural and process organization
• Staff deployment planning
• Organization and further development of IT-supported user services in cooperation with the Digital Library Services Department
• Representation of the University Library in user-related contexts within and outside the university
• Collaboration in the conceptual development of the library system and the services offered
• Supervision of subject librarians, preferably in the scientific and technical fields
• Providing information skills and specialist information
• Maintaining contact with teaching staff in the relevant departments

Requirements:

• Completed career examination for the higher service at academic libraries or Master's degree in library and information management
• Completed academic university degree, preferably in a scientific or technical subject
• Comprehensive knowledge of librarianship and good knowledge of IT library systems
• Ability and inclination for personnel management
• Enthusiasm for innovation, active participation in library change processes
• Assertiveness, ability to deal with conflict, social skills
• Ability to work in a team and reliability

Advantageous:

• Professional experience in a responsible, managerial position at a library
