In the Department of Architecture - Urban Planning - Landscape Planning the following positions are available as soon as possible

- one position in the Department of Architectural Theory and Design (Prof. Philipp Oswalt), code 32524, and

- one position in the Department of Urban Design (Prof. Stefan Rettich), code 32525

to be filled as part of a joint project:

 

Part-time with 66.67 percent of the regular working time of a full-time employee. The positions are initially limited until 30.09.2020 within the framework of a third-party funded project (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG).

 

For the research project "Building for New Mobility in Rural Areas: Adapting the Building Structures of Villages and Small Towns in the Course of the Digitization of Transport" within the framework of the BMI's Zukunft Bau research initiative, we are looking for two scientists to develop concepts for new mobility in rural areas using the example of northern Hesse. The aim is to develop scenarios for the possible effects of digital transport on the development of settlement structures and concepts for the associated adaptation of built spatial structures. The project builds on preliminary work on the topic (symposium and publication on the topic, preliminary studies) and aims, among other things, to continue the topic field with further studies and research and to have an impact on real practice.

 

Tasks:

  • Independent work on a research subfield within the framework of the above-mentioned research project.
  • Communication and cooperation with local practice partners
  • Spatial analysis and research
  • Conceptual design and visualization in 2D and 3D
  • Development and graphical implementation of scenarios

 

Requirements:

  • Completed academic university studies in architecture, urban planning or landscape planning/architecture or related disciplines (e.g. geography or traffic planning)
  • Interest in issues of new mobility and digitalization
  • Confident handling of digital media, graphic programs and CAD applications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (German and English), collegiality, independence and initiative as well as a confident approach to dialog with local practice partners

 

Advantageous are:

  • Previous knowledge in the field of new mobility
  • Knowledge of GIS applications
  • Knowledge of English
