2 research assistants (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of human-machine systems engineering

The positions are initially limited to 2 years with a focus on the project "U-hoch-3: Unbeschwert urban unterwegs" (§ 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

In research and teaching, the Department of Human-Machine Systems Engineering deals with the user-oriented development of effective and efficient human-machine systems in an interdisciplinary approach. In close interaction between science and practice, you will have the opportunity to implement innovative concepts and ideas with good equipment and to write a current and practice-oriented dissertation. We offer you a variety of personal development opportunities in research and teaching, a pleasant working atmosphere, short decision-making processes and freedom for scientific specialization.

Tasks:

Conception, prototypical development and laboratory/field test of an assistance system for inner-city mobility with public transport and robotic support of a delivery service.

• Low-barrier information technology design of human-technology interaction of public transport in vehicles, at stops, in the control center and in personalizable user interfaces such as smart public displays, smart glasses, smart watches and smart phones
• User-centered design of human-robot interaction in public spaces and innovative support of an urban delivery service.

Activities include user- and task-oriented requirements analysis, usable design and prototypical implementation, and empirical evaluation of prototypes. In doing so, you will work together with our project partners or clients from research and companies and take on tasks in teaching the field. The goal is scientific qualification and preparation for a doctorate.

Requirements:

If you are looking for further qualification after having completed at least a good scientific university degree (computer science, engineering, human factors or comparable) and would like to work scientifically at a modern campus university, have above-average initiative and commitment, very good German and English language skills as well as basic knowledge in the field of human-machine systems, you could fit well into our team. In addition to interesting and current research questions, the department offers a modern laboratory infrastructure with diverse research opportunities and collaboration in a dedicated, interdisciplinary team.
