Golf tournament "Uni Kassel Open" with US Open participant

In perfect weather and on a perfectly prepared course, the "Uni Kassel Open Golf" took place on Friday (July 6) at the Waldeck course. While the so-called "Rabbits" played their first tournament on the 9-hole course, the seasoned golfers competed on the 18-hole course. In addition to the participants of the university sports courses, the students of the elective golf course had to prove their competitive ability on the 9-hole course and play at least handicap 54.

On the 18-hole course, Sebastian Hirte (Hcp 54) was delighted to take first place with a sensational 57 stableford points, ahead of Dennis Wiegand (Hcp 54) with 40 net points and Matthias Ernst (Hcp 39) with 37 points. The gross score went to Waldemar Lenze (Hcp 9.3) with 25 stableford points ahead of Gerhard Blömeke-Rumpf (Hcp 8.6) with 23 points. The special "Longest Drive" award was won by Dr. Kristina Schaefer in the women's category, while in the men's category, not entirely unexpectedly, former US Open participant and PGA pro Casey Bourque was successful. The Nearest to the Pin went to Paul Helbig with 2.06m.
