Workshop Series "Ethics of Globalization": Feminist Perspectives on Globalization

There are numerous debates in global ethics about the just handling of migration and flight, the challenges of man-made climate change, crises of democracy and capitalism, and how to deal with trends of increasing radicalization of political and social beliefs. In a majority of these cases, empirical research suggests that women in particular are affected by the negative effects of these changes. Thus, globally, they represent a particularly vulnerable group whose perspective requires special consideration in global ethics. At the same time, feminist perspectives in research, activism, and politics are increasingly confronted with publicly expressed and enforced anti-feminist viewpoints.
Given this tension, questions we would like to discuss in this workshop include: When and how can feminist perspectives be effective in the issues of global ethics? What problems are these approaches exposed to, both practically and theoretically? What potentials does the inclusion of feminist approaches hold for theories and practices of global ethics?
