Bazon Brock, art theorist and art mediator, has given groundbreaking impulses for the promotion of understanding and appropriation of contemporary art by visitors to Kassel since the late 1960s with his "visitor schools" at the documenta. As a contemporary of Lucius Burckhardt, he sums up his approach of the "smallest possible intervention with the greatest effects" and his life-reforming work in Kassel. With Stefan Rettich he discusses the references to current questions of a change in the perception of space and interventionist strategies in architecture and planning.

FUSION Retrospectives

The Reform University Kassel celebrates its 50th anniversary. Time for a balance and an outlook also in architecture, urban and landscape planning in the context of the lecture series FUSION.

Where we come from and which lasting accents our department has set is the focus of the FUSION "Retrospectives" in the winter semester 2021/22. Pioneers who were central to the formation of the department profile present positions and contributions in a retrospective of their work at the university and beyond. In conversation with guests and colleagues, they reflect on the significance of architecture, urban and landscape planning at a reform university and in a society undergoing rapid change.
