Ideas from Hessen with a difference - teams of founders present themselves at Gründerslam

In April  2018,  14 teams from universities in Hesse started the accelerator program of the first-ever "Hessen Ideen Stipendium".  On September 20, starting at 5 p.m., they will present their start-up ideas at the Fraport Forum at Frankfurt Airport.

The "Hessen Ideen Stipendium" was awarded for the first time on April 1, 2018, for a period of six months by the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts. It is aimed at university students and graduates with an affinity for start-ups who are in the early stages of developing a business idea. The scholarship amounts to 2,000 euros per month. A total of 40 start-up teams from 10 Hessian universities applied for the scholarship. 14 projects were selected for funding. Over the past six months, the teams underwent the "Ideas Accelerator", a coaching and qualification program in which they were made fit for starting their own business. In addition to a personal coach at the university who assists the founders, the scholarship holders got to know experienced entrepreneurs who reported on their experiences and took part in various workshops.

As part of the Gründerslam, the scholarship teams now present themselves to the public. Unlike in "classic" presentations or investor pitches, in the slam they are asked to present their start-up idea in an entertaining and equally comprehensible way. In the style of science slam or poetry slam formats, the audience can vote live on which team has delivered the best slam.

All interested parties are cordially invited to participate in the slam and get to know the ideas. The coordinators of the "Hessen Ideen Stipendium" also offer interested founders the opportunity to find out more about the scholarship program. Applications for the next round of scholarships are still open until September 30.
