WHEN, IF NOT NOW? - Political education in school

The educational mandate set out in the 16 state school laws enables schools to provide civic education to all children and young people. The legally formulated mandate seems clear. However, the ever-changing subject structures, the time available to schools, as well as a high proportion of lessons taught by teachers who have not been trained for this purpose, call into question the effectiveness of civic education in schools. The basic conference will consider how and under what changed conditions schools can contribute to the formation and education of democrats.
