Critical sustainability science?

Panel discussion with Andreas Braun (Ecological Agricultural Sciences), Kirstin Gutekunst (Biology), Ulrike Jordan (Thermal Energy Technology) and Dirk Stederoth (Philosophy), moderated by Philip Hogh (Philosophy)

Sustainability is on everyone's lips, including in the sciences and especially at the University of Kassel. However, the perspectives and goals associated with sustainability in the sciences are as diverse as the scientific interest in sustainability. The panel discussion will therefore deal with (1) what similarities and differences can be found from the different specialist perspectives for a scientific engagement with sustainability, (2) to what extent science itself can or must be sustainable, and (3) to what extent sustainable sciences can or must be critical of the social conditions of nature and of their own institutional conditions.
