Vacation Children's University in Witzenhausen in July

Climate change - everyone is talking about it - but what is it exactly? What is actually happening to the earth? What's the difference between climate and weather? Eating, living, traveling - we influence the world with everything we do. But where are the connections between food and climate change? And how do people elsewhere deal with it?

At the vacation children's university in Witzenhausen, the young researchers learn quite a bit about climate change.

We approach this topic through experiments and small trials, explorations, conversations and games. The children decide democratically how the program should be adapted according to their wishes.

In between the research tasks, there is time to get creative and solve little climate-rate trivia. To keep up with the strenuous research work, there is a joint breakfast break - guaranteed to be climate-related! This time, the children have to bring their own food because of the required distance and hygiene rules.

Note: The program may take place in agreement with the mayor/county council. In order to make the vacation program possible in spite of Corona while observing distance regulations, all cooperation partners were spontaneously prepared to finance two runs with only 8 children each and to adapt the program. The VHS provides the necessary rooms, since the offer can NOT take place in the rooms of the University of Kassel/Tropical Greenhouse. After registration, families will receive the hygiene instructions and rules to contain the Corona virus.

Please note that we have to react flexibly to current rules and regulations!
