Wünsch is the new 4ING Chairman

Olaf Wünsch has headed the fluid mechanics department at the Institute of Mechanics at the University of Kassel since 2003. Wünsch studied at the University of Hanover and received his doctorate from the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg in 1993. There he also habilitated in 1999 in the field of fluid mechanics. His research focuses on the modeling of flow processes and their numerical implementation as well as experimental validation, with particular emphasis on applications.

The umbrella association "Fakultätentage der Ingenieurwissenschaften und der Informatik an Universitäten" (4ING) represents 140 faculties, departments and divisions at 60 universities and technical universities in Germany. These faculties provide more than 90 percent of the university courses in civil engineering, geodesy, mechanical engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering, information technology and computer science.
