The Hans Martin Award is intended to motivate young scientists in particular to develop innovative occupational science solutions to problems in working life. On the one hand, this is intended to promote young scientists and, on the other, to make the world of work safer and more productive, while at the same time promoting peaceful coexistence and environmentally compatible behavior in a society. Entries may include feasible ideas or concepts for work that has yet to be done with the aim of making work more humane, as well as a scientific achievement that can be expected to lead to the successful implementation of ergonomic findings for a more humane design.

The Hans Martin Prize is one of the leading prizes for occupational science in the German-speaking world and serves to recognize young scientists in the sense of an interdisciplinary understanding of occupational science. All disciplines of occupational science are addressed (e.g. psychology, engineering, sociology, economics, social sciences). The award is named after Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Martin, former head of the Industrial Science Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kassel.

The prize money amounts to 5,000 euros and is divisible. Professors from universities and universities of applied sciences with an occupational science background are eligible to submit proposals. A detailed justification (one page) and an abstract of the project idea or a copy of the work should be sent to the address below or by e-mail by July 31, 2021.
