Summer School Art and Performance in Public Space

What does "public space" mean, what role does it play in urban life and how do we behave in it? The Summer School on Art and Performance in Public Space deals with questions like these. It is organized by the Department of Aesthetic Education and Movement Education.

From August 25 to 28, students of the University of Kassel, teachers and pupils can participate in the Summer School. A total of two workshops will be offered. In the course "Urban Everyday Choreographies," Dr. Lucia Rainer explores the question of how people move in public space. Following artistic research, she and the workshop participants will develop their own performances on this question. At the same time, Olaf Pyras offers the workshop Sounding.Beuys, in which an audio walk to the artwork 7000 Eichen in Kassel is to be created.

The Summer School is planned as an attendance event. If this is not possible due to the pandemic, it will take place online with excursions. Registration is open until July 19, 2021 for:

Students, pupils and pupils via the IfM: anne.fischer[at]uni-kassel[dot]de
Teachers via the ZLB: lehrerfortbildung[at]uni-kassel[dot]de
