Apply now: New Master "Mobility, Transport and Infrastructure

Whether at transport companies, in specialized engineering offices or in the public sector, whether in strategic planning, operational traffic management or in the design of transport infrastructure: professionals with in-depth knowledge of planning, technical, economic and ecological contexts and the ability to link these together have excellent career prospects. The University of Kassel is responding to this need by offering the new master's program "Mobility, Transport and Infrastructure" (MoVIn) starting in the winter semester of 2021/22. The three-semester master's program is aimed at bachelor's graduates who would like to specialize. A doctorate is also possible after passing the master's degree.

Professorship "Cycling and Local Mobility" also participates

The design of a sustainable transport system is a topic with high social importance. Integrated transport planning with the subject areas of mobility management, traffic management and infrastructure planning as well as the design, dimensioning, construction and operation of transport infrastructure - these are all complex tasks that require general knowledge of transport in addition to specific expertise. Above all, it is important to understand and be able to evaluate interrelationships between the different aspects. The new master's program expands the subject-specific knowledge acquired in the first degree program with additional interdisciplinary technical and methodological knowledge and supplements this with current findings and developments in transportation. The recently acquired professorship for "Cycling and Local Mobility" also participates in the teaching.

Students can specialize in two of the following areas: Integrated Transportation Planning, Public Transportation, Bicycle Transportation and Local Mobility, Streetscape Design and Streetscape Design, Transportation Infrastructure, and Transportation Engineering. The program is deliberately also open to those who do not have a university degree in civil, environmental or traffic engineering (instead, for example, in mathematics, computer science, spatial and urban planning, economics and law, geography). A first professional university degree is required as an entry requirement, although no field of study is specified. However, basic competencies in mathematics, mechanics and the transport sciences must be demonstrated, although these can also be made up in the course of the Master's program.

The Master "Mobility, Transport and Infrastructure" is not subject to any admission restrictions. Application for the winter semester 2021/22 is possible until September 1. For applicants with foreign certificates, the admission deadline is July 31, 2021.
