The FUSION retrospectives in the winter semester 2021/22 will focus on the origins of the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Landscape Planning and the lasting impact it has had. Pioneers who were central to the development of the department's profile will present their positions and contributions in a retrospective of their work at the university and beyond. In conversation with guests and colleagues, they reflect on the place of architecture, urban and landscape planning at a reform university and in a society undergoing rapid change.

The public lectures always take place on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m., online via Zoom due to the pandemic: https://uni-kassel.zoom.us/J/97142526529?PWD=SVZZTG90OXC0R3ZFEHFDRNDFC2I3UT09.

Program, dates, more information can be found below, in the university's schedule  https://www.uni-kassel.de/uni/aktuelles/veranstaltungskalender and at

Cooperative Planning - Ingrid Lübke - 1990-2007
Interlocutors
:Ursula Stein, Hon.-Prof. Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Markus Leibenath, Department of Landscape Planning and Communication I FB06.

More than any other ideas, cooperative approaches have changed the theory and practice of spatial planning in recent decades. The dialogical departure from the "god-father-model" and the democratization intended by it has manifold facets and has occupied administration and politics from Aachen to Zittau at the latest since Stuttgart 21. Ingrid Lübke brought early experiences with integrated development and citizen-oriented planning from the Netherlands to Kassel and brought them to life in the city and university. Ursula Stein and Markus Leibenath will discuss how the increased demands of committed citizens can be reconciled with the requirements of action-oriented planning in times of housing shortages and climate change.

Reform University yesterday - today - tomorrow - Aylâ Neusel - 1986-1990 Vice President - Interlocutor: Ute Clement - President University of Kassel.

What role do architecture, urban and landscape planning play in the context of a reform university? Aylâ Neusel, who studied architecture, has been preoccupied with this question since the 1970s, when she played a major role in the conception of the Gesamthochschule Kassel. Not least our project studies still bear witness to the innovative spirit of those days. But what can the reform university of the 21st century look like and what role will Kassel play in it? Our new president Ute Clement discusses these questions with the university researcher and science manager.
