Campusfest with Maja Göpel on June 30 - program online

The transformation researcher and bestselling author Maja Göpel is a prominent guest at this year's Campusfest at the University of Kassel. After a pandemic-related break in 2020 and 2021, there will be an extensive program with other popular science lectures, hands-on experiments, guided tours, cultural contributions and much more in addition to her lecture "Departure into the World of Tomorrow." The program is now online.

Mankind is in the midst of an enormous transformation process. Things we have taken for granted in the environment, the economy, politics, society and technology are crumbling. One of the most important voices in the debate about our future, sustainability and transformation is Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel. The author of the bestseller "Rethinking the World" uses scientific findings to illustrate how we can understand such complex developments and use this knowledge for a better world. In the future, research and teaching on transformation processes will also take place at the newly founded Kassel Institute for Sustainability along the lines of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. That's why things will also get exciting after Maja Göpel's lecture (5 p.m., Campus Center, Lecture Hall 1) at the University of Kassel's Campusfest: that's when she will engage in conversation with visitors.

The Campusfest is the conclusion of a series of events that will bring life back to campus this summer. "University thrives on encounters. After such a long time, we also finally get to open our doors again. Campusfest will be a real festival for everyone and the crowning finale to the celebrations of 50 years of Kassel University," enthuses University President Prof. Dr. Ute Clement.

A large part of the program will take place outside this year: Guests can take a spin on a bike with eye-tracking goggles, measure the surface of the earth and much more, and there will also be numerous guided tours and a varied stage program. At the Campus Center, there will be lectures on topics such as epidemic modeling, the peculiarities of the German language, and the history of the university. The marching brass band "BOOMHORNS" will make the audience sweat from 8:15 p.m. onwards, bringing the party to a close in the evening.
