University of tomorrow - workshop talks for time after Corona

Randomly drawn participants discuss the future of the university and gather ideas. The first conversation, "Working after Corona," was held on 4/28/22, with the conversation, "Engaging in Self-Governance after Corona," following on 5/31/2022. The final workshop conversation will be held on June 30, the day of the Campus Festival, which also marks the end of the University's anniversary year.

Working according to Corona

The focus of the first conversation was working according to Corona and mobile work. Lecturers, technical-administrative staff and trainees provided many different impressions from their various perspectives. Together with President Prof. Dr. Ute Clement and Vice President Prof. Dr. Sonja Buckel, who chaired the discussion, they formulated five conditions for the success of mobile work: For example, there must be clear regulations and agreements, the infrastructure must be in place, especially in the form of good IT equipment, and the advantages of face-to-face work should be taken into account. There was also a call for consideration and understanding for the reasons why colleagues work on a mobile or presence basis, as well as an openness to new working models beyond the individual office, such as co-working spaces and shared spaces.

The workshop discussions serve to reassure university members about how they want to collaborate and teach in the future. The results are to be discussed broadly within the university.
