8000 guests at the Campusfest

On the Holländischer Platz campus, after the Corona-related break, there was hands-on science, lectures, guided tours, art and culture. In Lecture Hall 1, which was packed to the brim, around 650 guests listened to Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel's presentation, while other guests followed the broadcast in another lecture hall.

The transformation researcher and author of several bestsellers (including "Rethinking Our World") was unable to appear in person at short notice, but had herself broadcast live. In her remarks, she emphasized: In the fight against climate change, it is important to reform systems as a whole instead of implementing individual solutions for individual problems. She therefore welcomed the fact that the Kassel Institute for Sustainability is being founded in Kassel out of a similar idea.

This new center had been presented earlier by the university president, Prof. Dr. Ute Clement: With its professorships, it reflects the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and is intended to have a nationwide lighthouse character in research and teaching on sustainability.

The campus festival marked the end of the anniversary year. Numerous scientists provided insights into their research, for example during tours of a streetcar simulator or a digital model factory; the primary school workshop was also open. Numerous lectures were also well received. A large part of the program took place outside in midsummer temperatures. Until late in the evening, bands on the main stage ensured a great atmosphere and an exuberant summer festival.
