Welcome to the University of Kassel Prof. Dr. Gabu Heindl!

Dr. Gabu Heindl will take over as Head of the Department of Construction and Project Development | "Architecture City Economy" in the winter semester 2022/23. She studied architecture in Vienna, Tokyo and at Princeton University and completed a doctorate in philosophy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. From 2018 to 2021 she was a visiting professor at Sheffield University with a research focus on Urban Commons and subsequently Professor of Urban Design at Nuremberg Institute of Technology. Since 2019 she has been a Unit Master at the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA), London.
Gabu Heindl works in practice and theory on non-profit, collective housing models, project development and financing models. In Kassel, she will contribute her academic and practical experience as an architect and urban planner to research into socio-ecological changes of perspective in the (re)construction industry and project development, towards non-profit housing and urban development.
