"Red Brick Company" presents the comedy "Comic Potential" from the end of June.

The ensemble is directed by Dr. Lars Heiler, Department of Literature - American Studies, and has been creating plays for ten years.

The comedy "Comic Potential" is set in the near future.  Artificial intelligence has permeated all areas of human life. Even actors in television productions have been replaced by humanoid robots. In a London television studio, one such robot suddenly shows human characteristics and starts laughing uncontrollably during a rehearsal. The female robot is deemed flawed and in need of repair by television producers, but young writer Adam recognizes the potential of the robot, whom he names Jacie. Adam is determined to write a television series for Jacie, but when he encounters resistance from the studio bosses, he embarks with Jacie on an odyssey through London that shows her the limits of her humanity.

With plenty of wordplay and situational comedy, Alan Ayckbourn's 1999 comedy prophetically anticipates current discussions about artificial intelligence and human-machines.
