On 23.10.2019 there will once again be exciting insights into the technical professional worlds, because on the Day of Technology many well-known companies from Kassel and the surrounding area will be active and in turn offer various tours for interested parties. In addition, the technical departments of the University of Kassel will open their doors and give future school leavers an insight into engineering research and technology. In addition, the students, together with their supervisors, can find out about attractive courses of study and experience the diversity of technical progress in the laboratories.

The event is organized and carried out by a team of four consisting of students Nils Kewitz, Florian Knoch, Said Askriy and Miriam Henselmann. The four young and highly motivated members of the organizing team are very familiar with technical courses of study, as they themselves study electrical engineering, computer science and physics. In their work they are supported by M.Sc. Christina Simon (Chairwoman of the Day of Technology in the VDE district association Kassel) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Bangert (Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science). The Day of Technology is intended to bridge the gap between students interested in technology, potential regional employers and the engineering courses of study at the University of Kassel, in order to open up perspectives for future careers to young people.

The schedule for the Engineering Day is planned as follows: After visiting engineering workplaces at the participating companies, a joint lunch will offer students the opportunity to fortify themselves as well as to exchange ideas about what they have seen and heard. Following two exciting technical presentations by Prof. Dr. Clemens Hoffmann and M.Sc. Friederike Wenderoth, some of the departments provide insights into their laboratories and workplaces. Following a final discussion, the participants will travel back to their starting points.

Participants are free to decide which companies are of interest to them and which tours they would like to take part in. Buses are available for travel between the various locations. Every high school student is cordially invited to participate in the Technology Day.

Registration via https://www.vde-kassel.de/de/veranstaltungen/tag-der-technik is possible and necessary until Wednesday, 09.10.2019 at 6 pm.
