Welcome to the University of Kassel Prof. Dr. Tobias K.D. Weber

Dr. Tobias Karl David Weber took up a professorship in the field of soil system sciences on 1 December 2022. After studying at BTU Cottbus and TU Braunschweig, he completed his doctorate at TU Braunschweig in 2018 on the topic of "Characterizing hydraulic properties and net ecosystem exchange of an ombrotrophic peat bog by inverse modelling". Research stays took him to the USA and Canada, among other places. He then worked as a post-doc at the University of Hohenheim. His research focuses on the evaluation of soil functions and the associated ecosystem services using spatially explicit process modeling in the soil-plant-atmosphere system. He combines methods of laboratory and field measurements with methods of data and computationally intensive model-data fusion.
