Reading and Exchange: Handbook "Feminist Perspectives on Parenthood" with Alicia Schlender

As co-editor, Alicia Schlender will read from the handbook "Feminist Perspectives on Parenthood" and give the participants an insight into the feminist debates and struggles on the topic of parenthood, which for a long time have been rather neglected in feminist theories in the German-speaking world. The handbook addresses "these gaps" and gathers 50 gender-critical keywords on the topic of parenthood. It is a reference work with a variety of topics, which, in addition to the theoretical location, also negotiates the institutional embedding and addresses ways to parenthood and being a parent. Furthermore, challenges of a feminist family policy and utopias of a liberated society are considered.

Following the reading, there will be time for questions to be asked and for a joint exchange.

There will also be free childcare from 3:45 p.m. with drinks and snacks suitable for children. The children will be looked after by the Flying Nannies. No prior registration is required. The childcare will take place in the adjoining building in the Studierendenhaus in the rooms of the autonomous parents' department (Universitätspl. 10, 34127 Kassel, 2nd floor, elevator available)
