STOP THE SILENCE! Action day on the topic of sexualized violence

Sexualized violence is an issue in the university context - recognizing and acting: Together at the University of Kassel

Universities are not exempt from sexualized discrimination and violence. With the campaign STOP THE SILENCE! the University of Kassel wants to contribute to making it possible to talk about sexualized discrimination and violence, to sensitize everyone to the topic, to do prevention and education work and to offer help in case of assaults.

For employees and students of the University of Kassel, the Equality Office is offering a day of action on March 8, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Campus Center. Claudia Schredl, GESIS, will present the results of the UNIsafe study on gender-based violence in universities and research institutions. After the presentation, there will be six parallel workshops on digital sexualized discrimination and violence, as well as on the basics and possibilities for action with regard to dealing with sexualized violence. There will also be a taster course on self-assertion and self-defense for women*.

Registrations for the workshops are possible until February 27 by indicating the workshop at gleichstellung[at]uni-kassel[dot]de.
