Soft Opening | Exhibition MUT zur Zukunft - How new materials and technologies are making the architecture of tomorrow more sustainable

An exhibition by the Materials and Technology Research Network from the Faculty of Architecture - Urban Planning - Landscape Planning

The exhibition presents innovative materials and technologies that have been developed in recent years at the University of Kassel or are currently being researched. The developments provide answers to current and future challenges in the construction industry such as climate change, population growth, energy transition and resource scarcity.

Sustainable, resource-saving, recycled and recyclable materials are used. Digital technologies for the design or production of buildings are creating new possibilities. Traditional construction methods are also being taken up and transferred to the future.

The spectrum ranges from concrete façades as electricity-producing solar collectors to robotic winding processes for material-efficient lightweight components made of veneer wood and an endless thread made of willow wood for architecture, construction, product design and vehicle construction.

The exhibition is curated by the Experimental and Digital Design and Construction, Structural Design, Design and Building Construction and Fine Arts | Research Platform BAU KUNST ERFINDEN from the Faculty of Architecture - Urban Planning - Landscape Planning.
