Statement on the attack on Ukraine (as of 2/2022)

The Presidium of the University of Kassel is appalled by the attack of the Russian leadership on Ukraine. This is at the same time an attack on the European idea and the principles of democracy and international understanding, for which we as a university also stand.

Science thrives on international exchange, renunciation of violence and peace. We are concerned for the well-being of all those who are being drawn into this war against their will. Our thoughts are especially with our cooperation partners in Ukraine and with all those who are connected with our university and now fear for their families and friends.
